Spatial and Temporal Variation of Aerosol Optical Depth in Huaihai Economic Zone from 1982 to 2021

Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), quantifying the amount of aerosol in atmosphere, is widely regarded as a crucial indicator for research on atmospheric physics and regional air quality. At present, inversion AOD from observation satellite remote sensing sensors has become main technology large-scale monitoring load. The Huaihai Economic Zone connecting belt two key areas governance (the Yangtze River Delta Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, China), it been suffering pollution many years few studies focus this region. Therefore, spatial temporal characteristics are explored using MODIS data AVHRR region during period 1982 to 2021 study. correlation coefficients between actual were analyzed by combining PM2.5 pollutant concentration quality index (AQI) data. results showed that higher northwest than southeast, different season season. annual variation W-shaped trend 2011, while decreasing after 2011. In terms seasons, whole differences evident, exhibiting values summer > those spring autumn winter. Furthermore, indicated quarterly monthly tends be flat recent years. Since 2015, continued decline, same AQI. Meanwhile, still obvious, with winter lower summer. However, also represented significantly 2015 2018, which opposite 2019 2021. Lastly, PM2.5/AQI given; i.e., 0.84/0.82, highest coefficient (R = 0.86/0.91) lowest 0.46/0.48).
